Physical Exam & Diagnosis: Thorough assessment of your history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies.

Education & Instruction: Utilizing models, an explanation of the source of the pain or injury. The patient is an active participant, with the goal of a fully informed patient with regards to diagnosis and treatment options.

Non-Surgical Treatments: Treatment plan tailored to the diagnosis and preferences of the patient. In addition to treatments considered customary or conventional in a physicians office, chiropractic, acupuncture, homeopathic remedies (nutraceuticals), or therapeutic massage are representative of options which can be effective treatment of many musculoskeletal conditions.

Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation: Restoring optimal strength, flexibility, and endurance (functional restoration) following an injury or longstanding pain condition is indispensable in the recovery process.

Medications: For short or long term pain control, and/or to reduce an inflammatory process, assisting the body's inherent ability to mend.

Injections: Reserved for those conditions which are resistant to the more conservative interventions for pain, injury, and debility. Many of the injections are performed with the assistance of very small doses of Xray (fluoroscopy) or ultrasound to precisely localize the anti-inflammatory agent thereby increasing the probability of a successful outcome, and at the same time substantially reducing the discomfort, risk, and failure rate associated with performing these procedures in a blind fashion.

Surgery: Surgery is infrequently required to treat most musculoskeletal conditions, however there are specific instances in which surgery is the preferred treatment choice. Dr. Lawler can provide an expert assessment regarding your specific problem, including a determination if surgery should be a consideration. Dr. Lawler can appraise the potential likelihood of a good outcome with surgery, considering risk and benefit for a given procedure, ensuring that you the patient can make the correct decision regarding this treatment option.
