Welcome to my medical practice.
A question frequently asked of me is, "What is the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation...also known as Physiatry?" In a nutshell, physiatry treats musculoskeletal and neurologic deficits through non-surgical means.
I'm committed to excellence in the diagnosis and nonsurgical
treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. I personally perform your history and physical examination, provide
education/instruction utilizing models, and provide ample time for
questions. All treatment options considered safe, effective, and time
tested are discussed.
Diagnostic testing may be required to arrive at an accurate diagnosis, substantially increasing the likelihood of curative treatment. Diagnostic testing options are determined by the physical examination, patient history, and tests already completed. In most cases a specific diagnostic test is required for a specific diagnosis. Unfortunately, an MRI is not the diagnostic gold standard for all cases. A definitive diagnosis will result in a much higher probability of resolution of the problem. Treatment is unique to each diagnosis, with options including, but not limited to physical therapy, medication, chiropractic, acupuncture or injections.
You, as the patient, are an active partner/participant in your care...your treatment plan is a consensus decision between you and the doctor, after thorough discussion of all reasonable options.
My office is located on the first
